A German favourite at Christmas, stollen is a festive bread, laden with alcohol soaked fruits, with a double barrel of home made marzipan encased in the centre. This bread keeps for a month ensuring that it is available all throughout the holiday season. Store in a cool dry place. Contains gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts.
A German favourite at Christmas, stollen is a festive bread, laden with alcohol soaked fruits, with a double barrel of home made marzipan encased in the centre. For us, nothing brings in the holiday season quite like a Panettone. This bread is so heavily enriched with butter, sugar, and eggs that it hangs upside down for 8 hours after baking to ensure it does not collapse. The base of a panettone comes from a carefully maintained starter called a ‘pasta madre’, which is fed twice daily at specific temperatures. The main dough is mixed twice over 2 long fermentation periods, and is filled with high end fruits, nuts, or chocolate. It is then finished with a decadent glaze before baking. This bread keeps for up to one month if stored carefully in an airtight,dry environment. Panettone flavours are released in November for the upcoming holiday season.
